Harrisons
Harrisons of Edinburgh was founded in 1863 by Sir George Harrison who began his career as an apprentice with an Edinburgh tailor. Harrisons established itself as specialists in Pure Cashmere suitings, jacketings and coatings. In addition, and to compliment the collection, business and less formal suitings in Super 100’s, 120’s, 150’s & 180’s in merino wool. All of the Harrisons cashmere and suiting fabrics are woven within the United Kingdom.
H. Lesser & Sons
H .Lesser & Son were renown for servicing the tailors of the West End and the City of London, H Lesser gained a fabulous reputation amongst the very best tailors, not only within the UK, but also the rest of the world a reputation we continue to this day.
Smith Woollens
Smith & Co was founded in 1921 by Herbert Smith and Claude Graham. Today Smith Woollens continues to serve not only the tailors of central London, but also the many film and tv companies on its doorstep. In addition, many fashion houses such as, Hermes, Gucci, Stella McCartney and Ralph Lauren have featured Smith cloths in their collections.
Porter & Harding
Porter & Harding are well known for their fine Scottish Tweeds , a collection of bunches ranging from 12ozs up to 18ozs, which can cater for many occasions but more specifically for the outdoor pursuit enthusiast. John Porter & Bill Harding founded Porter & Harding in 1947.
W. Bill
Over the many years W.Bill became famous for its wide and varied collection of tweeds and cashmeres, helping to cement its reputation as one of the world’s premier cloth merchants. And so we are delighted to be opening a new chapter in the company’s history, introducing new contemporary qualities alongside the classic Scottish Tweeds to a new and highly engaged generation.
Lear Browne & Dunsford
The City of Exeter, in the West of England, enjoyed great prosperity in the 16th to 18th centuries from processing and exporting woollen cloth. With such a history, it is not surprising that the founding families of Lear Browne and Dunsford chose Exeter when they commenced trading in 1895 supplying fine quality fabrics and linings to the worldwide tailoring industry, which they continue to do to this day.
